About Takeshita Street

Takeshita Street is the tourist crush of Harajuku. The Harajuku Takeshita-dori Shotengai keeps the official map and shop list. JR Takeshita Exit opens onto the north end. Meiji-dori is the south end, then Omotesando. Bollards rise 11:00–18:00 so cars stay out. Walk on the left. Saturday afternoon is not locals-only. Togo Shrine is one block off if you want a quiet shrine without leaving the station side. Hours follow each shop, usually around 11:00–20:00. The old “open 24 hours” row on this slug was wrong. Keep the URL /takeshita-street until a 301 to /streets/takeshita-street.
