About Togo Shrine

Togo Shrine is the quiet shrine on the Takeshita side of the station. It sits at Jingumae 1-5-3. Enshrined is Admiral Togo Heihachiro. Locals use it for ordinary prayers, Shichi-go-san, and hatsumode without walking the Meiji forest. Grounds open 06:00 April–October, 06:30 November–March, and close 17:00 year-round (18:00 on 1–3 January; 1 January opens at midnight). Reitaisai is 28 May. Mitama lanterns are a July event. Official calendar: togojinja.or.jp/annual. The free loop bus between the shrine and Harajuku Station is stopped. Walk three minutes from Takeshita Exit, or five from Meiji-jingumae Exit 5. Togo Parking is separate (06:45–24:00). This is a shrine. Do not type it as a mall.
