Baird Beer Harajuku Taproom is the Tokyo outpost of Baird Brewing Company, one of Japan's most respected craft breweries. The bar pours a rotating lineup of Baird's own ales, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and seasonal one-offs, all served alongside a menu of hearty pub-style dishes such as fish and chips, burgers and smoked meats. The second-floor space at 1 Chome-20-13 Jingumae has a convivial, lived-in feel, with wooden tables, brewery memorabilia on the walls and a buzz of conversation that makes it easy to strike up a chat with the person on the next stool. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to guide newcomers through the tap list. It is an excellent spot for an evening drink after a day exploring Harajuku. The taproom can fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so arriving early or booking a table is wise if you have your heart set on a particular seat.
