About This Event / イベントについて
The 18th Tokyo Shokuiku Fair occupies Yoyogi Park Keyaki Namiki on Saturday 14 November and Sunday 15 November 2026, 10:00 to 16:00. The avenue is Jinnan 2-chome, the zelkova walk on the Harajuku side of the park, not Event Plaza. Organiser is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Food Safety Division, issued the 15 October 2026 press note. Admission is free. No booking. Light rain goes ahead. There is no event car park. Use the train.
Forty-four tents are planned. The TMG note lists health consults, chopstick-making, Tokyo farm produce, rice-flour bread, and sweets. The official flyer adds food-education displays, workshops, and a Tokyo Metropolitan Government corner with panels and pamphlets on the city's shokuiku work. Kitchen cars using Tokyo ingredients sit on the same avenue. Stalls sell. The stage is a separate clock.
Saturday event-space hours on the programme leaflet, subject to change: 11:00 NES Lab Station from Rissho University on the hidden labour inside daily food, 12:00 Tokyo Kasei University nutrition lab on breakfast habits in a 50-minute class, 13:00 NPO Shokukukan Coordinate Association on ichiju-sansai, 14:00 chopstick maker Hyozaemon with a Japan Chopstick Culture Association instructor, 15:00 Kenkoen on brown-rice enzyme food for preschoolers through adults. Sunday: 11:00 Tamago Knowledge Conference and Tamago Science Research Association on eggs, 12:00 Asia Shokuiku Promotion Association on Keikei bento, about 1,000 character bento over ten years of mother-and-daughter work, 13:00 Kyushoku Toban live, the unit that wrote Crayon Shin-chan and NHK Mina no Uta songs, 14:00 Okome Man Project with a cook, a shokuiku instructor, and a food songwriter plus the mascot, 15:00 LOCAL FISH CAN Grand Prix 2026 from Local Lab. This year's extra is digital. The TMG press page adds a meal-balance check. The flyer runs a digital quiz rally and a survey. Prizes are blueberry seedlings, Tokyo tomatoes, and simple grow kits, first 500 people each day. Finish the rally before the kits run out. The same flyer prints access: JR Harajuku west exit about 10 minutes, Meiji-jingumae exit 2 about 10 minutes, Shibuya Hachiko about 15 minutes, Yoyogi-koen exit 2 about 15 minutes. The map on the flyer puts Keyaki Namiki on the Jinnan edge, with NHK Hall and the national indoor stadium as landmarks. Those buildings are wayfinding, not the venue. The fair is the zelkova avenue.
The same weekend Fiesta de España is on Event Plaza. Different lawn, same park. You can walk from Spanish tents to Tokyo tomatoes if you want both, and you will spend the day in the park. This fair is the civic one: bureau staff, university labs, NPO cooks, a chopstick factory, an egg study group. Buy if you want Tokyo produce. Stay for a 50-minute class if you want the 12:00 slot. Children will drift toward the rally and the kitchen cars.
