Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu 原宿店
外はカリッと、中はレアでジューシーな牛カツの専門店。選べる特製ソースで味わえます。
Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Harajuku is part of a renowned Kyoto-born chain that specialises in gyukatsu, a breaded and deep-fried beef cutlet served medium rare. The exterior is golden and crisp whilst the interior remains pink and juicy, a contrast that has made this dish a social media sensation and a must-try for meat lovers visiting Tokyo. Each gyukatsu set comes with rice, miso soup, and a selection of condiments including wasabi soy sauce, sansho pepper and salt, and Worcestershire-style sauce with curry broth, encouraging diners to enjoy each bite with a different flavour. The restaurant prides itself on using high-quality beef and is notably the only gyukatsu chain in Japan that does not use injection-marinated meat, ensuring the natural flavour of the beef shines through. Located in the basement of a building on Meiji-dori, the Harajuku branch is open daily from 11:00 to 21:30 with menus available in Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese. Prices start at around 1,500 yen for a set meal, offering excellent value for the quality. Expect a queue at peak times, but it moves steadily.
