Deus Ex Machina is a cafe and lifestyle store at Bpr Square Jingumae 1, 2-32-5 Jingumae, a couple of minutes from Harajuku Station. The Australian brand began as a motorcycle showroom in Sydney in 2006 and has grown into a broader culture label, and this two-floor Harajuku outpost reopened in 2025 after a move. The ground floor runs as a cafe while the second floor holds the retail and bike display space.

The cafe menu is broad, covering specialty coffee, sweets and a much-loved pulled pork belly sandwich and negroni, with the baristas among the better in the neighbourhood. Hours run from 09:00 to 20:00 for the cafe and 11:00 to 20:00 for the shop, daily. The black edifice stands out from its neighbours, drawing a creative, design-minded crowd. It suits coffee lovers, bike enthusiasts and anyone wanting a cool, unhurried Harajuku stop.

Orders are taken at the cafe counter, with the basement sometimes hosting exhibitions. Instagram: @deuscafe_tokyo
