Okei Sushi is a long-established Edomae sushi restaurant founded in 1978 and located in Jingumae, a short walk from Gaiemmae Station. Over the decades it has been loved by numerous notable figures, and it remains a serious, counter-focused sushi house where skilled itamae shape each piece by hand. The restaurant is particularly celebrated for its tuna, sourcing what it describes as peerless-quality maguro and serving it across cuts from akami to chu-toro, including a signature lightly-seared style inherited from the previous-generation chef. The rice is seasoned with red vinegar from Yokoi, aged for over six years in the Edomae tradition, giving the shari a deep, mellow character that complements the topping. The menu runs to omakase courses of seventeen or twenty-one pieces, alongside a la carte snacks and desserts, and a lunch-only Edomae course offers excellent value. A fully private room, the Suzumasa no Ma, seats one to eight guests and is served by a dedicated itamae who shapes the nigiri at the table, entering through a separate entrance.
