About This Event / イベントについて
PEACE DAY 2026 at Yoyogi Park lands on Monday 21 September, the UN International Day of Peace, at the Event Plaza next to Harajuku. Certified NPO PEACE DAY runs it 11:00–20:00. Entry is free. NGO booths close at 18:00 on the official event page. Yoyogi Park listings have said 19:00 for booths. Treat 18:00 as the safe last walk-through until the organiser updates the 2026 microsite.
Stage names already confirmed: May J. in her 20th debut year, Tarumi Violinists, who have played the UN Peace Bell ceremony for more than 20 years, and Tetra Band and Friends. ZERO FES, a teen-run entertainment bill, adds Za SAVAGE and turntable duo Kaiharu Bro. Hosts are Saher Rose and journalist Jun Hori. Talk guests were still being added after the 21 August announcement.
The night is built from candles visitors make on site. You write a peace line on the wax during the day. The candles are lined up and lit after dark under CANDLE JUNE. Sixteen groups work the booth field on nuclear abolition, refugee support, landmines, child soldiers, and conflict minerals. PEACE DAY WEEK stretches 17–23 September around this one park day, including a 20 September film programme with the International Peace Film Festival.
Walk from Harajuku Station or Meiji-Jingumae toward the park event plaza, the same lawn China Festival used the weekend before. Bring a light layer. September evenings drop fast once the candles go on. Check peaceday.jp/2026 for stage-time updates the week of the show.
