SHIBUYA LIGHT PLAY at Yoyogi Park BE STAGE runs Sunday 1 November through Sunday 8 November 2026, 17:00 to 21:00. The site is the skatepark at 1-1-1 Jinnan, Shibuya-ku, inside Yoyogi Park. Organiser is Tokyu Real Estate. Joint operators are Shibuya Future Design and the Shibuya City Tourism Association. NAKED handles the projection. The programme sits next to Social Innovation Week. Tokyo and the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau fund it through the projection-mapping promotion grant. Entry is free. No booking. Standing only. There are no chairs.
The theme on the NAKED press sheet dated 23 October 2026 is PLAY THE CITY. This is the second year NAKED has worked this bowl. Last year the same park ran WAVE RIDE. This year the floor and the ramps become a sensor field. Walk, skate, or watch. The mapping follows the body, not a fixed loop. Sports skill is not required. Children, adults, and people who only meant to cut through the park are the audience NAKED named.
COLOR TERRITORY PLAYGROUND occupies Sunday 1 November, then Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November. The bowl floor turns into a four-colour territory field in red, blue, green, and yellow. A sensor assigns you a colour when you step in. Your path draws a light line. Close a loop and the enclosed patch fills with your colour. You can steal another person's patch. You can walk with someone who has the same colour and grow a larger block. The press copy says you do not need a rule sheet. Walking and closing a shape is enough. Children and adults share the floor. Skateboards stay off this programme. This is a walking night in a skate bowl, which feels odd the first five minutes and then obvious. Weekend COLOR nights will fill. Arrive near 17:00 if you want floor space rather than rim space.
SKATE NIGHT fills Monday 2 November through Friday 6 November. Mapping hits the floor and the ramps. A skater's line and tricks change the projection. Players get a night session in the same park they already know. Spectators get the overlap of board and light. Bring a board if you skate. If you do not skate, stand on the rim. There are still no seats. Four hours, 17:00 to 21:00. November evenings in the park are cold. Wear a jacket you can zip while standing. Keep the floor clear. Do not set a tripod in a lane that still has boards.
BE STAGE is Tokyu's C PARK skate facility. Daytime the bowl is a skatepark. LIGHT PLAY takes the night slot. Do not treat 17:00 as a skate-only hour on COLOR nights. The territory game uses the same concrete. SKATE NIGHT is the reverse: boards first, mapping follows the deck. If a child wants both, come 1 November for walking and a weekday for skating. SIW is a separate Shibuya programme. LIGHT PLAY is the park piece NAKED listed as linked to SIW, not a ticketed SIW session. You walk in from the park path. The 23 October release did not publish a capacity cap. The bowl is small.
This is not Forest of Lights. Forest of Lights is a timed 1.8 kilometre walk on the cycling course from 13 November, tickets at Lawson and TBS. LIGHT PLAY is eight nights earlier, on the Jinnan skatepark, free, and you stay in one bowl. Furusato Shibuya Festival occupies Event Plaza on 7 and 8 November in daylight. LIGHT PLAY on those two nights is still 17:00 to 21:00 at BE STAGE. You can do both if you leave the tents before dusk. Walk from JR Harajuku, Meiji-jingumae, or Yoyogi-koen. Jinnan 1-chome is the east side of the park, closer to Takeshita than to the cycling-course gate used for Forest of Lights. There is no event car park. The bowl is outdoor. Rain is not listed as a cancel rule on the NAKED release. Check NAKED staff X or the C PARK site the afternoon you go.
