Harakado 6F does Día de Muertos on 1 and 2 November, 11:00 to 23:00.

DAY OF THE DEAD HARAKADO 2026 is two indoor days, Sunday 1 November and Monday 2 November, 11:00 to 23:00, on the 6F food hall of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku Harakado at 6-31-21 Jingumae. MEXICAN GRILL AVOCADO, run by AVOCADO Inc., organises it. The Mexican Embassy, Mexico's agriculture ministry, and Harakado are listed as backers. GIA puts Don Nacho tequila on the bar. HIS is listed as cooperation. The room is the food hall you already use for tacos. It is not a street parade, and it is one day after Takeshita's unofficial costume crush.

Catrina skull paint at Harakado food hall

The ofrenda is the centre. The paint desk is the queue.

Día de Muertos falls on 1 and 2 November in Mexico. Families build an ofrenda with marigold, papel picado, candles, food, and photographs, then go out painted as La Catrina. UNESCO lists the wider practice. Harakado is installing a 2026 ofrenda in the food hall as a photo set. Shoot it before the dinner rush, while the candles still read as an altar and not as a backdrop behind burrito boxes.

Catrina paint and one-point skull paint run both days 11:00-20:00. Harakado shopnews, updated 23 October, says a painter with a world-championship record is on the chair. The press photos show full-face work and a smaller motif on a cheek. Price is not posted. Ask before you sit. A full Catrina takes time. If you want mariachi photos with the paint still sharp, sit in the afternoon, not at 19:50.

Day of the Dead ofrenda with marigolds at Harakado

Mariachi at 18:30 and 20:00. DJ from 18:00.

Mariachi La Fiesta, led by Mexico City's Alex Mejia, plays 30 minutes at 18:30 and again at 20:00 both nights. The shopnews calls it the only mariachi group of its kind in Japan. Latin DJ SkuLLcruSh€R runs 18:00-22:30. If you only want the band, eat first and arrive for 18:30. The food hall is indoors. Brass will bounce off the ceiling. Earplugs for small children are a practical object, not a mood.

Piñata workshop and skull portraits: 1 November 11:00-17:30, 2 November 12:00-19:00. Those hours come from Harakado shopnews dated 23 October, later than the 19 October PR Times note that listed 12:00-18:00 both days. Trust the mall page. Pop-ups 11:00-20:00: Caracol for Mexican folk crafts, kaus for skull jewellery, DAIKANYAMA JUMP COFFEE with Veracruz beans, and a Hot Sauce Bar with more than 30 tastings. The PR Times hours for shops were 12:00-20:00. The mall now says 11:00. Go with 11:00.

MEXICAN GRILL AVOCADO counter on Harakado 6F

The stall you already know, two nights of ¥500 highballs

AVOCADO is the 6F counter with tacos, burritos, nachos, and a cashless board. For these two days they add Don Nacho tequila highballs, blanco or reposado, at ¥500. Follow Instagram @avocado_harakado and post a photo for a raffle with no losing lots, according to the mall copy. First 50 child orders get a paint seal for face or arm. Food is extra. There is no published door charge. You still pay for tacos. The stall already runs cashless. Bring a card.

Meiji-jingumae and Harajuku Station are the usual walk into Harakado. The 6F food hall is inside the building. You do not need a costume. Painted faces will be in every photo whether you sat for one or not. Tokyo Snow Festival is still on Yoyogi Event Plaza B on 31 October and 1 November. One is a park snow event. This is an ofrenda over a taco counter. Give them separate evenings if you want both, or do snow on Saturday and Harakado on Sunday.

AVOCADO's own site is mexican-avocado.com. The living schedule is the Harakado shopnews page, last touched 23 October. If the paint desk or the mariachi clock moves, that page will move first. Phone on the press release is 070-5571-9192, Yoshino at AVOCADO. The food hall keeps serving after 20:00. The paint desk does not. Plan the face before the highball.
