The same Yoyogi weekend in late October looks like one park festival from JR Harajuku. It is two. Earth Garden Autumn takes the Event Plaza lawn on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, roughly 10:00–17:00. Tokyo Night Market has already been on Keyaki Namiki since Wednesday 21 October, weekdays from 16:00, weekend from 14:00, both until 22:00. They overlap. They do not share a gate.
Earth Garden’s own page lists 81 stalls: crafts, workshops, GEARLOOP outdoor-gear flea, Higuma Doughnuts from Gakugei-daigaku. The lawn is free. The outdoor stage is not. Shurakuza, the village they built on that stage, wants a support ticket. ¥2,000 for one day, ¥6,000 for both, wooden tag on the two-day pass. Doors 11:00, show 12:00. Saturday’s names include Minyo Crusaders. Sunday’s include Yuma Abe and ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS!. If you only wanted a ceramic cup and a doughnut, you did not need that ticket. People will queue for it anyway, because the stage looks like the whole festival from the gravel.
The avenue starts later on purpose
Night Market is the zelkova walk Caribbean Latin America Street used on 17–18 October. Smaller than the lawn. The 2026 live list is idol and band heavy: Charan-Po-Rantan, XOXO EXTREME, ゆるめるモ!, Hellzapoppin’. Street theatre too. Entry is free. Food is not. Shibuya City is listed as backer. A metropolitan night-time tourism grant pays part of it, which is why the hours run past the park’s afternoon festivals.
A local Saturday is the lawn before 16:00, then the avenue. Tourists who arrive at 15:00 and stand in the Shurakuza line miss the free crafts and still miss the night market’s first hour. Tourists who treat Keyaki Namiki as Earth Garden’s overflow walk into a different organiser, different toilets, different last train plan. 22:00 is late for Harajuku if you still wanted Meiji Jingu. The forest closes at sunset.
The week around it is not the same grass
Snow Festival occupies Event B on 31 October and 1 November, free, rain goes ahead, snowboard jib and a stage. Jazz on 3 November is Central Lawn, 11:00–15:00, also free, also grass, also a different patch from Event Plaza. Furusato Shibuya on 7–8 November returns to the plaza as the ward’s own festival. Forest of Lights from 13 November is the cycling course after 17:30, timed, no same-day booth. If you learned “Yoyogi weekend = food tents” in April, unlearn it. The park keeps moving the furniture.
Walk from the Takeshita exit along the park edge. Meiji-jingumae and Yoyogi-koen work too. There is no event car park. Plaza facts: Earth Garden Autumn. Avenue facts: Tokyo Night Market.
